This tour is
an introduction into the traditional and contemporary practices of Mexican farmers and
ranchers, and will show you some of the finest farmlands in Mexico, with hands-on farm and
ranch visits, to well established producers and experimental farms. Also enjoy a panoramic
train ride to Copper Canyon, where you will discover a vast, interlocking maze of largely
unexplored mountains that come together in five huge canyons, each one larger and deeper
than the Grand Canyon.
Day 1 - 4 Ciudad Juarez - Chihuahua

Arrive in El Paso,
Texas and transfer to hotel in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Overnight at Plaza Juarez Hotel
(***). Visit the Antonio Narro Agricultural University Campus, and the Zaragoza Milk
Plant. Motor coach to Chihuahua, transfer to Sicomoro Hotel (****). City tour of
Chihuahua, a historical colonial city located on the edge of the arid Chihuahua Desert.
Visit the University of Chihuahua Animal Science Campus. Motor coach to Cuauhtemocs
Mennonite Colony. Visit cheese factories and Angus and Herford cattle breeders.
Day 5 - 6
Chihuahua - Creel
Board
the Copper Canyon train to Creel, transfer to Parador del la Montana Hotel (***)(meals
included). Enjoy a guided stroll to the Copper Canyon and view the region surrounded by
pine forest, mountain meadows, and Indian Villages.
Day 7
- 8 Creel - Los Mochis
Train departure for Los
Mochis, transfer to El Dorado Hotel (***). Take a City tour. Visit wheat, sorgus and
tomato experimental farms. Lecture on NAFTA and agricultural products. Drive to El Fuerte,
a picturesque colonial town, built in 1610 to protect soldiers and settlers from fierce
Mayo Indian raids. |
