| This creative arts tour, will focus on clay sculpting and the manner practiced by Mexico’s "artesanos" who live on nearby ranchos. Participants will learn about the natural properties of clay earth and the refining process practiced, and prepare their own clay objects for exhibit. |
• Day 1 - 2 Buena Vista Arrive in Los Cabos and motor coach to Buena Vista. Transfer to Rancho Buena Vista Hotel (***) for seven nights stay. Experience the diversity of Baja, rich in both land and sea; the desert a rival to the endless stretch of white sandy beaches. Enjoy an evening with local "artesanos" with clay objects, pictures, and video. Visit an "artesano" ranch workshop. Find and dig out clay earth and learn about it’s natural properties and the refining process. |
Process and refine clay at the Rancho Buena Vista pottery workshop. Learn from a variety of objects from clay. Bisque fire clay pieces. Learn about the chemistry of the different ways of firing pottery. Work on designs for decorating pottery and decorate clay objects. Enjoy the leisure time for relaxing by the pool, or at the beach, or participate in other activities. |
